Information for the Beneficiaries of
The Baily Thomas Provident Fund (Former Employees of Mansfield Brewery) |

Former employees of Mansfield Brewery Plc and its subsidiaries are being encouraged to apply for grants towards the costs of healthcare, education, business development and financial support in times of hardship, thanks to a new campaign launched this week to track down former employees of the company.
In 1970 the Baily Thomas Provident Fund was set up on behalf of Frank Bruce Baily Thomas, who was the only grandchild of William Edward Baily, one of the joint founders of the Mansfield Brewery. The fund provides financial support to former employees and their immediate families.
Although there are a large number of employee records in existence, it is estimated that several thousand may still be missing, in the wake of mergers and acquisitions of the company over the decades. Local law firm Browne Jacobson LLP, as one of the trustees of the fund, is leading this campaign to ensure that all former employees are aware of the fund and the benefits it can provide and have been instrumental in tracking down details of former brewery staff who may be eligible to apply to the fund.
In recent years the fund has provided financial assistance to former employees in connection with a wide range of claims including the costs of retraining, support with new business start ups and even gym club memberships.
Richard Chadburn, another trustee of the fund said, “We welcome applications for grants from anyone who worked for Mansfield Brewery or any of its subsidiaries at any time up to 21 December 1999 as they could benefit from a range of grants and other benefits from the Fund.

“The subsidiary companies included Mandora Soft Drinks Limited, North County Breweries, T. W Beach & Sons Limited and Frampton Village Cider Company. We have already helped many former employees and their immediate families with healthcare costs, developing new skills and setting up their own businesses. The aim of our campaign is to bring the fund to the attention of as many former employees as possible.”
